CERODEM® DLC-LF
CERODEM® DLC-LF is a special variant of diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings developed by the De Martin Group. This coating is characterised by its exceptionally low coefficient of friction, which in some cases can reach a coefficient of friction of just 0.05 against steel (100Cr6). Thanks to this property, CERODEM® DLC-LF helps to significantly reduce wear, energy losses and heat generation on tribologically stressed components.
Another advantage of CERODEM® DLC-LF is the reduced tendency to stick and the reduced cold welding of surfaces, which is particularly advantageous when processing sticky materials or dry running. The coating is typically used for sliding and rolling contacts such as bearings, gear parts, seals, pistons or tools as well as in food processing and medical technology.
In addition to the outstanding friction properties, CERODEM® DLC-LF also offers high hardness, good wear protection and corrosion resistance. The coating therefore combines many of the positive properties of DLC coatings and is particularly suitable for use in mechanical engineering and plastics processing. With CERODEM® DLC-LF, the De Martin Group offers a high-performance solution to improve the performance and service life of tribologically stressed components, in addition, build-up on tools is efficiently reduced.
It is therefore also used for cavities and mould applications in the medical technology and packaging industries (especially for the production of caps and PET bottles), as well as for all moving and sliding elements of injection moulds.
