CERODEM® DLC-ST LF
CrN-DLC multilayer coating systems represent an innovative solution that combines the advantages of chromium nitride (CERODEM® CrN) and diamond-like carbon (CERODEM® DLC LF) in a high-performance coating. This combination enables superior wear and corrosion protection as well as outstanding tribological properties, which are of great benefit in demanding industrial applications. The basis of these multilayer coatings is a CERODEM® CrN layer, which is characterised by its excellent adhesion to the substrate material. CERODEM® CrN offers high hardness and effective protection against corrosion, even in aggressive environments. The good adhesion of the CERODEM® CrN layer creates a stable basis for the CERODEM® DLC LF layers that build on it.
One or more DLC layers are applied to the CERODEM® CrN layer, giving the coating system its unique properties. CERODEM® DLC LF is characterised by extremely high hardness, which results in exceptional wear resistance, ensuring a long service life of the coated components even under extreme loads and abrasive conditions.
Another advantage of CERODEM® DLC-LF coatings is their extremely low dry friction coefficient. The low friction minimises energy losses and increases the efficiency of moving parts. This leads to improved performance and a reduction in wear, which extends maintenance intervals and reduces operating costs.
The combination of CERODEM® CrN and CERODEM® DLC LF in a multilayer coating system enables the properties to be optimised to meet the specific requirements of different applications. By varying the layer thicknesses and the number of individual layers, the coatings can be specifically customised to the respective application conditions.
CERODEM® CrN-DLC multilayer coatings are widely used in various industries due to their outstanding properties. In the automotive industry, for example, they are used for engine components, transmission parts and injection systems to improve their performance and durability. In the aerospace industry, they are used for turbine blades, bearings and other critical components that are exposed to high loads and temperatures.
CERODEM® CrN-DLC coatings have also proven themselves in the tool and mould making industry. They protect tools and moulds against wear, corrosion and adhesion, resulting in a longer service life and improved product quality. By reducing downtime and maintenance intervals, these coatings help to increase productivity and profitability.
All in all, CERODEM® CrN-DLC multilayer coating systems provide a high-performance solution for wear and corrosion protection in demanding industrial applications. By combining the advantages of CERODEM® CrN and CERODEM® DLC LF, they offer exceptional hardness, a low coefficient of friction and improved durability of the coated components. With their broad applicability in various industries, they help to optimise processes, increase productivity and reduce costs.
