DEMARTIN Zinc

  • Very good corrosion protection
  • Many different post treatments possible: chromating, sealing
  • Low costs

Zinc is the most widely spread galvanisation process. Zinc processes can be found on almost every continent. Corrosion protection constitutes its main application. In comparison with practically all basic materials, zinc is less precious and therefore behave anodically. This means that at the beginning of corrosion, zinc will dissolve in favour of iron.

Zinc coatings are chromated in a post treatment that massively increases the corrosion protection.

Zinc can be deposited via various processes. These processes result in the same coating properties (with variations in polish), but they can vary significantly with regard to the bath composition.

In general, coating requirements are increasing, which is especially taken into account through zinc alloy coatings in the field of corrosion protection.
