CERODEM® CrN
- High oxidisation-resistance for high-temperature applications
- High ductility, large coating surfaces possible
- High wear resistance for textile fibres
- Alternative to hard chrome coating
This coating that is deposited by PVD is used as a thin protection coating against friction wear for non-dry application and against abrasion wear, as well as a bearing layer for the carbon film family.
CERODEM CrN is a sputtered, smooth chromium nitride (CrN) coating. It is characterised by a high resistance to oxidisation and a good ductility. It is primarily used for components that must have good sliding properties at high temperatures. Its particular topography, ductility and resistance to wear make this coating a high-performance alternative to hard chrome coating for specific applications.
Due to its reaction to polymers, this coating is ideally suited to plastic injection moulds and other polished moulds.
